Pete Killane is an award-winning Irish Director and Series Director with more than 25 years' experience in broadcast television. Working across documentary, factual and unscripted programming, Pete combines strong character-led storytelling with a distinctive visual approach, informed by a decade spent working as a lighting cameraman.

His directing credits span major Irish and UK broadcasters and include What Dáire Did Next, BackStory,, The Complaints Bureau, for RTE One, Ill Gotten Gains for BBC One, Stop Search Seize for Sky, Help Me Buy a Home, Takeaway Titans and Battle of the Food Trucks.

Whether following a subject through a deeply personal documentary or directing a large factual-entertainment series, his approach is built around trust, authenticity and finding the moments that reveal character. As a self-shooting director, his experience behind the camera allows him to work closely and unobtrusively with contributors while maintaining a strong cinematic style.

His documentary What Dáire Did Next followed Dáire Gorman through a pivotal period in his young life, capturing everything from powerchair football and major surgery to growing up and his extraordinary connection with Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp.

At the beginning of 2027, Pete will make the move into scripted drama, directing four episodes of Ireland's flagship serial drama, Fair City, for RTÉ One.

Pete is based in Ireland and works internationally. Alongside directing, he is an experienced Shooting Producer/Director and licensed drone operator.
